Shoeboxed User Carmen Roberts of Plus3 Solutions Rallies to Help Flood Victims

Roma, a small town in outback Queensland, Australia is not the most obvious place to set up a cloud consultancy business. But nevertheless, that is exactly what Shoeboxer Carmen Roberts of Plus3 Business Solutions has done.

We were in the process of interviewing Carmen for our next installment of “Organizing The World” when devastating rains covered Roma and many of its neighboring towns, leaving entire communities covered in water and countless residents displaced. There is not a family in the district that has not been impacted in some way by the horrific floods.  In the town of Mitchell only 14 buildings remained unscathed.

Instead of proceeding with our normal installment of our User Success Series we wanted to take a moment to recognize Carmen for her efforts and ask the greater Shoeboxed community for your assistance in providing relief to this area that has been ravaged by flood waters.

You may have heard news reports of the 2010 floods that affected Queensland’s state capital, Brisbane, in 2010.  These floods also had a tremendous affect on many outback towns, and to be flooded again just two years later has only compounded much of the destruction that these areas have already suffered.

Shoeboxed is proud to support the “After The Disaster” appeal by offering affected businesses free Shoeboxed accounts and by promoting the appeal to our global audience.

On behalf of the entire Shoeboxed team, and in particular all of those in our Sydney office, our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy.

If you are able, please donate to the relief effort. Every dollar helps!

Raging Flood Waters
OUTBACK AUSTRALIA
“Widespread Disaster”

Mitchell Queensland AustraliaHundreds of homes were filled with the rapidly rising flood waters. The swelling river reached record heights that no one predicted. Many families and businesses are left with nothing! Once thriving communities may never fully recover. The mud stained land is soaked in heartache and stories of loss but in the face of adversity the Queensland spirit is strong and they will rebuild. By donating to the appeal you will be giving them a helping hand for tomorrow.

Almost all of the homes were destroyed only 14 remained dry as an entire town was covered in the muddy water surging from the mighty Maronoa River that runs through Western Queensland.

In the days and weeks that follow these tragic events, the news finds a new story and hope of a helping hand fades quickly. After The Disaster Appeal is raising money to help communities as they face an uncertain future.
