A Sneak Peek at Our New Mobile App

A Sneak Peek at Our New Mobile App

Coming soon to an iOS App Store near you: The Shoeboxed Receipt and Mileage Tracker – redesigned for the new world (iOS7) and complete with a whole new suite of features and tools.

But beauty is only skin deep, right? So aside from looking a lot better there will be a number of long requested and highly valuable features now available to users.

Here are our favorites:

  1. Syncs all receipts & business cards, across all devices.
If a receipt is available online, it will be available on your phone. Easy peasy lemon squeezy, right?
  2. DIY data enter receipts from the phone.
Whether you’re a DIY or paying user, you need a receipt in a pinch or we got something wrong – quickly and easily edit the receipt from the phone. No more ugly and buggy edit screens to deal with.
  3. Mileage receipts no longer have to go through data entry.
We already have the information, why wait for the receipt to process? No longer! As soon as a trip is completed, the receipt and data is ready for all of your expensing needs!
  4. Switch between any Shoeboxed accounts you have access to.
Log in once and you’re ready to go. No more restrictions on which accounts you can submit to on the go

We couldn’t be more excited – but we want your input too!┬áIf you want to be one of the lucky few beta testers, please enter your contact information below and we’ll be in touch soon for premiere access.

Meet Michael Hourigan

Often referred to as “the longest standing intern at Shoeboxed,” Michael is a native North Carolinian who graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. He is an avid golfer, skier and novice bird watcher. When he is not developing marketing campaigns, Michael enjoys binge watching WWII documentaries on Netflix.

  • Laura Helm

Would love to be involved in the beta testing!

  • Paul

Put me down for the beta too please.

  • Michael Hourigan

Thank you for your interest Laura and Paul! We’re unfortunately limited by Apple on the number of beta testers we can allow at one time. Currently we’re investigating ways to increase this list size and as soon as there is more info we will let you know.

Again, thank you sincerely for the interest – should it not be possible this time, you will be at the top of our list for the next beta release.

  • Charles Singer

I would like to be a beta tester as well, if at all possible.

  • Joel Rodriguez

    I’m down !!!

  • OgreSwamp

You can use up to 100 testers (well, including your own mobile devices).
You can also submit beta app for approval (with release day in the late future) and when it will be approved you’ll have 100 promo codes which you can use (without publishing app to the AppStore).

  • Michael Hourigan

Thanks for the tip! Our interest in doing a public Beta is to receive feedback and issues from our users and update the app accordingly through multiple iterations. By submitting as a “beta app for approval” we would forego the ability to make any changes before releasing to the App Store and would additionally have longer wait times due to the review process.

  • OgreSwamp

I don’t see any problems with changes before releasing. You’re not forced to put approved version for sale. You can upload another version with new features and still not publish it in the app store.
In addition it will have shorter review time as minor changes (like adding an extra feature) will be approved faster than whole iOS 7 update.
Anyway that was just a tip.

  • OgreSwamp

Anyway the biggest problem for me with your app was that DIY receipts don’t appear on the web app. I wanted to test Shoeboxed while I’ve been in Russia for a business trip. I haven’t bought any plan as I need to edit manually any receipt anyway (no Russian language recognition, no currency recognition). So I entered all details in mobile app myself. And I can’t see them in web UI. This was a blocker for me to use your app honestly…

  • Michael Hourigan

Thanks again for the tip, we appreciate your insight :)

Are business cards going to be scan-able with the new app? And, you mentioned “Syncs all receipts & business cards, across all devices,” does that mean that you’ll be able to view and import bcards on your device?

  • John Burgess

Where is the link sign me up

  • Michael Hourigan

The new app will not serve as a business card submission method, but you will be able to view all of the business cards you have in your online account on your mobile device.

  • Michael Hourigan

Thank you for your interest, John. We have taken the link down because all of the testing spots have already been filled. I will add you to the top of our beta testing list for the next version!

  • Jesse Bern

I’m all in to test this as well!

  • Sarah

When will this be available? Must have read my mind because I was just thinking those features would make life so much easier! I hope soon!

  • Emily at Shoeboxed

The app is still in beta, but we’ll be sure to let you know when the new version is available for public download!

  • Brian Davis

is there an eta on availability?

  • Emily at Shoeboxed

If all goes according to plan, it should be available for download within a couple weeks!
