Emails from Shoeboxed

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Another quickie:

We’ve been experiencing some problems with emails going out today due to a large amount of traffic coming from the CNET/Webware article that ran earlier today. Emails appear to be sending normally now, and we will be resending confirmation emails that some people did not get when they signed up today. There are only a handful, but we just wanted to let you know that we know.

You’ve Got Questions. We’ve Got Answers.

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

If you’ve been reading this blog for long, you know that over here at Shoeboxed, we take pride in our customer support. We want everyone to get the information and access that they need from us, and we work hard to make sure that if you have a question or need something from us, you can get it.

Because our customer base is growing so fast, our customer support team is also growing. We’ve hired two new customer liaisons so that you can get prompt and helpful answers to your questions about Shoeboxed. It’s never been able to organize your receipts or have us scan them for you; we’re here to help you along the way.

If you ever need anything from us, feel free to email us at help@team.shoeboxed.com or call us at (888) 369-4269.

Webcast: You’re Invited

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Shoeboxed has some pretty new technology, and a lot of awesome features. In order to get a grasp on all you can do here, and how to best organize your receipts, it can be helpful if somebody walks you through it.

Since we can’t head over to your house and sit down with you, we decided that the next best thing would be to do a webcast. So guess what? Shoeboxed is hosting its first ever webcast next week. We want you to come!

Wait, hold on. What’s a webcast?

Webcast, webinar, live online instructional streaming video, potato, tomato. It’s kind of a buzzword I suppose.

Our webcast will be a live video that you can access online. The Shoeboxed team will be there to explain how Shoeboxed works, tips and tricks for using Shoeboxed, and to answer any questions you have via online chat. It should be a great resource. If you’ve had some lingering questions about Shoeboxed that you have been waiting to ask, we want you to come!

It’s also a good opportunity to get to know the people that make Shoeboxed happen each and every day.

The webcast will take place on Wednesday August 20 at 2PM EST. Register for free here.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Server Upgrades Coming This Weekend

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Just a quick announcement: We are in the final stages of upgrading our servers right now. Once this is done, there should be a noticeable improvement in the speed of the website. These changes will likely go into effect this weekend.

Due to some more advanced processing of receipts in our Receipt Mail-In scanning operations and a significant increase in volume of Receipt Mail-In envelopes, our servers have been a tad stressed. We like to think that it’s a good problem to have since it means we are growing and more and more people are catching on to the Shoeboxed idea. For those of you that have experience interruption in service this week because of this, I just want to say “thanks” for bearing with us a little bit.  We are working round the clock to make sure that Shoeboxed is a fast and convenient way for you to organize and manage your receipts. If you have any suggestions or comments, please send them to us at help@team.shoeboxed.com.

We appreciate very much when you contact us. After all, Shoeboxed is all about what you want it to be, so all your comments are read and responded to by our great customer support team as soon as possible.

Viva Shoeboxed!

More Organized Help: The Shoeboxed Info Desk

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

We have always been dedicated to making the Shoeboxed website as easy-to-use as possible. Part of that mission is to provide extensive and helpful support on the site. We provide personal responses to all emails that come in (send to help@team.shoeboxed.com) and we answer all our own phone calls (give us a ring at 1-888-369-4269). We don’t use automatic replies, outsourced customer service reps, or automated voicemail robots, all of which seem to be the norm in this day and age.

We think our personal approach has been working out pretty well so far, but we barinstormed how we could make our Department of User Love a little more proactive. I just got through making a new Shoeboxed Info Desk with a couple of other people on the team that includes all our Frequently Asked Questions, which are now organized more logically and are all (hopefully) up to date. We have a new feature that shows the most popular FAQs, which will hopefully give you a little more insight as to what other people on the site are exploring within Shoeboxed, whether it be scanning receipts, trying to log in, or learning more about our company’s history.

The Info Desk also has a recent feed of our blog entries, which often have helpful information about features updates and other Shoeboxed news.

The FAQs are still being updated one at a time, but there are close to 100 up there now, so feel free to browse around. We’ll be integrating this information to relevant pages on the site soon, so if you have a question about the View Receipt page, you’ll be able to get information right on the spot.

Thanks, and let me know what you think at dan@team.shoeboxed.com.

Help from Real People!

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

Over here at Shoeboxed, we’ve always been dedicated to the personal approach. We talk with users face-to-face, over the phone, and via e-mail everyday. We recognize how important it is to give you whatever help you need to get the most out of our service.

For a while there, all the calls that came into Shoeboxed forwarded to my personal cell phone. That resulted in some VERY early mornings, which I guess is understandable when you consider that Shoeboxed users organize receipts from all over the world, across time zones.

I’ve also spent a considerable amount of time answering e-mails from everyone who sends us one. We have a lot of users, and even a small percentage of them e-mailing us can be a heavy load, but I’ve always really enjoyed interacting with the people that use our service.

As we’ve grown, though, the volume of people contacting us–for whatever reason, from people who forgot their passwords, to people who want to tell us that we’ve come up with “the single most incredible idea I’ve ever heard” (Nic from Mississippi)–has greatly increased over time.

In order to offer the same personalized responses that you all have come to love, we are upgrading to a state-of-the-art support system, so that you can have the best possible Shoeboxed experience. We should be rolling this out over the next couple of days. Please feel free to keep contacting us at help@team.shoeboxed.com!
