PayPal Goes Paperless with Free Payment Processing in 2013
PayPal announced this week that they are offering free credit, debit, check and PayPal processing to qualifying U.S. businesses that adopt their PayPal Here solution for the rest of 2013.
PayPal Here is a triangular attachment for smartphones and tablets similar to competitors like Square and Intuit GoPayment that allows small businesses to accept payments on the go. One thing that sets PayPal Here apart from the competition is that the device allows business owners to accept check and PayPal payments in addition to just credit and debit cards. The device can also send email invoices. Offering free payment processing for the rest 0f 2013 is a great move by latecomer PayPal, who may convince some business owners who haven’t tried mobile payment devices yet to take the leap.
PayPal, who moved into the mobile payment space after some of the bigger name devices were released, has already secured early paperless partners in companies like The Home Depot and Abercrombie & Fitch. PayPal Here users also have access to customer support via phone, email and online, a feature that sets them far apart from FAQ and online form submission only support options offered by competitors.
Offering customers eReceipts may appeal to customers that already use a receipt management solution like Shoeboxed, and we support their efforts to reduce the number of paper receipts in the world! If you ever encounter a business that uses PayPal Here, make sure to give them your Shoeboxed email address to have the eReceipt automatically processed into your Shoeboxed account!
