Business Cards for Moms

We all know that being a mom is full time job (at the very least). Well, since many people that are full-time professionals have business cards, we wondered why moms don’t have business cards as well. They would be great if you want to exchange contact information with others, especially other moms.

As we were throwing this idea around, we thought you would be able to order your own business cards the same way that most people do: by finding a local company that can customize them for you or by using an online service where you can design the business cards yourself. A quick Google search will introduce you to some relatively inexpensive business card services. But we also learned that someone has had the idea for business cards specifically designed for moms before.

At Cards for Moms and Mommy Cards, you can order business cards that are specially designed for moms, and that allow you to print your kids’ names, address, and phone number, and emergency contact information. That way, if you are leaving your kids with someone else, the business card will tell them everything they need to know to keep your kids safe.

So moms, you have no excuses! Send us your business cards! We will scan them and digitize the information so you will have a digital backup of all your personal contacts’ information.

Get Ready for Mothers’ Day!

For selfish reasons, I’m excited about Mothers’ Day 2008 (I’m graduating from Duke that day!), but there are plenty of reasons to look forward to MD2k8. First of all, we get to step back and say “thanks” to our moms (and grandmas… and don’t forget the Greats!) who basically make the entire world turn. Second, we here at Shoeboxed are trying to spread the Shoelove to all the moms out there, so hopefully we can make your lives a little easier.

A lot of moms do the majority if the bookkeeping in their households, and they typically make the majority of a family’s purchases. A great blog, The Organized Life, wrote an entry today recommending Shoeboxed as a helpful tool for moms.

A gift subscription to Shoeboxed and an hour or two of helping Mom gather her receipts is a great way to get her on track toward less paper clutter.

We couldn’t agree more, and are excited announce that any mom who signs up in the next week can get a free trial of our Receipt Mail-In program. You can get all those receipts organized and without ever having to scan anything or invest in complex file-folder organization systems. Moms should have more time for themselves, and shouldn’t have to slave away at a desk getting all those receipts scanned and organized!

Also, if you want to buy Receipt Mail-In for your favorite mom this Mothers’ Day, we’ll give you a free month of it, and even email you a PDF card that explains the gift and how to use the subscription. That way, you have something physical to give her when you are showering her with gifts over brunch.

We’re excited about being able to bring a little good to the lives of moms out there!
