While you hear a lot of hype over Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday has been skyrocketing in popularity and dollars spent over the past few years. If you’re a small business owner, are you ready to capitalize on this holiday?

Last year, consumers spent over $5.7 million dollars at small businesses on Small Business Saturday. This year, Small Business Saturday happens on November 29. Here are some ways to make sure you maximize your sales on Small Business Saturday:

  • Make sure customers and passersby know that you’re participating in the holiday. Promote any special deals or shopping incentives through an email campaign or signage.
  • Ensure that you have ample staff on hand to help with unusually large crowds on Saturday so that you can offer the same top-notch customer experience you always do.
  • Head on over to the American Express website. It’s full of helpful resources, printable materials and cool ideas to promote Small Business Saturday in your city.

If you aren’t a small business owner, you can still participate in Small Business Saturday. Make sure to do your holiday shopping on November 29 to support local businesses!
